I decided to mix some leftover rice with a can of chili/beans. Tastes awesome.

Leftover beef stew with carrots and potatoes, with some bread I baked last night.
Also has a nice premium bottled rootbeer to go along with it, and a slice of banana nut bread after.

I had a burrito with my home made refried beans, steak, lettuce and onions. I’d take a picture but I’ve been digesting it for like four hours.

What is lettuce doing in your burrito? Are you in the bay area?

A bunch of San Marzano tomatoes, a bunch of raspberries, some slices of baguette with butter, an enormous honeycrisp apple, and 2 frozen vegetarian enchiladas (heated in the microwave). It wasn’t really a “lunch”, more snacking most of the day.

Growing up, this was the only way you were supposed to eat chili, as far as I knew.
Caucasian father, Asian mother. Caucasian grandmother teaches immigrant mother how to cook American food, including chili.
Asian mother, who serves jasmine rice with...well, everything...then proceeds to always serve grandma’s chili over jasmine rice.
I grow up none the wiser, and now every ladyfriend I ever cook chili for looks at me like I'm growing two heads when I serve it over rice.

I like this comparison. Now I can be the ultimate hipster: "I was eating fusion cuisine at home before fusion cuisine was even a thing."

Met my wife for lunch at our favorite restaurant, Il Posto in Denver. Had their Duo Piati lunch option - nice mixed salad with apples and walnuts, followed by an amazing apple and Gorgonzola risotto with some sage. Spec-fucking-tacular.
And then, nutella pudding with grilled bananas and sugar coated pistachios. Probably one of the tastiest things I ate in my life.

It is being crunchy and delicious. I’m about as far from the bay area as you can get and still be in the states.
